"Box of Stars"
Instructor: Barbara Bowen

If you love quick piecing and floating stars that won’t lose their points, this is the class for you!  Blocks are made from sets of three fat ¼’s, which include a light, a medium and a dark OR three different colors such as cream, red and brown.  Several different quilt sizes are included in the pattern.  So choose your colors and begin collecting sets of three fat ¼’s for these “fun to make” blocks!  A clever method of cutting shortens cutting time and includes the scrappy border.
Pattern required. Skill level: Advanced beginner.

"Wrap It Up"
Instructor: Mary Korrect

This fused and machine appliquéd method makes easy work of complex shapes.  We will make a 41”x41” wall hanging or table-topper, using the “Give and Take Fabric Appliqué method.  Choose 3 red fabrics, 3 green fabrics and 6 cream or white background fabrics to create 12 fun Christmas package blocks.  The blocks can be set with sashing and cornerstones or block to block.  High contrast in color and visual texture combine to make this 3 color project pop!  A small amount of pre-cutting will be done before class.
The book “Give and Take Fabric Appliqué” by Daphne Greig and Susan Purney Mark is optional.  Skill level: Advanced Beginner

"It's New to Me"
Instructor: Kay Montgomery

Make this great quilt using 6” blocks and easy techniques!  It’s attractive in scraps, as well as a more planned color scheme, using limited fabrics.  Give yourself a challenge and make it in colors you’ve never used or get your color inspiration from your favorite season!  Join the fun and make it in a 54” x 66” throw size or a 30’ x 36” baby size.
Pattern provided in class.  Skill level: All

"Fire Escape"
Instructor: Kay Steinmetz

One of life’s simple pleasures!  Pick a size (lap, twin or queen) and pick your fabric!  Let’s get started on this fun quilt!  Simple directions help to make this a breeze.  Bring your fabric to class already cut and let’s get the party started!  Fabric choice is key and easy to pick.  Just use your favorites – batiks to reproductions – or anything in between!
Pattern is required.  Skill level: All

"Monkey Wrench"
Instructor: Sue Swenson

Don't "monkey" around!  Get your fat quarters ready!  Pull from your stash or use some of the beautiful new fabrics at QGS!  Any fabric combinations work well with this block. The traditional pattern is set on point with a zig-zag sashing.  Precision piecing techniques and squaring up the blocks will make them fit together perfectly!
Quilt is 75” x 75”.
Pattern provided in class. Skill level: All
